Medical City Frisco's Bariatric and Metabolic Institute is accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), the national accreditation standard for bariatric surgery centers. The MBSAQIP program is a combined initiative of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

Bariatric Surgery Support Groups at Medical City Frisco and Medical City Plano
The staff at The Bariatric and Metabolic Institute at Medical City Frisco is aware that the choice to have weight loss surgery can be exciting for some and a lengthy and difficult decision for others. With surgery comes a whole new way of eating and living — it can truly be a life-changing event. In an effort to support our patients who may be considering surgery or who have had surgery, we offer bi-weekly support group meetings.
Groups are hosted by our bariatric coordinator, dietitian or nurse. These experienced, compassionate professionals assist patients with the dietary and lifestyle changes that accompany their surgery. We provide a supportive environment where we help patients share successes and difficulties, identify challenging situations and learn proven solutions for how to manage them.
Groups meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 6 – 7 p.m. with rotating meeting sites between Medical City Frisco and Medical City Plano.
